We were all very excited to get the box of a Scooby-Doo item to review. We more excited to find it was a Stretch Scooby! We read through the instructions of do’s & dont’s and then the kids were off trying to stretch him.
It says that Scooby should only be stretched to a maximum of 90 cm, but as my too are not that strong I didn’t think there was much chance of that happening! However there is a big measure to show you how long he can go, so no chance of guessing wrong.
Scooby’s teeth and eyes glow in the dark, which is slightly odd-looking, but my son thought was very funny.
He is made of a strange thick, heavy material, but becomes pliable very easily, and if you leave him sat in the sun (not recommended!) he goes all floppy and is then really easy to stretch.
AJ (8) got bored quite easily, I think she thought it was more of a ‘boys’ toy, FJ thought he was ace and was carrying him around for ages. Scooby does however only have a limited play time (but then, don’t most toys?) as once you have stretched and pulled him for a while there is nothing more to do.
Would I buy him? I think if you have an avid Scooby Doo fan, then yes. He’s fun and different to most toys, definitely great for boys who like to be rough!
You can get Stretch Scooby from lots of retailers at a cost of about £20.00.
